About this Item

Brief monograph of the artist Walter Greaves who labored under his mentor, James Abbott McNeill Whistler’s elongated shadow. An artist who, as a youth, produced original paintings now hanging in The Tate, Britain, he succumbed to imitating the style of Whistler to his detriment. He died a a pauper, ridiculed by pompous, self-proclaimed “historian” Joseph Pennell.
